Akhilesh Yadav attends wedding celebrations of Swara Bhasker and Fahad Ahmad, actor shares pictures from qawwali night

Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav attended the wedding celebrations of Bollywood actor Swara Bhasker and Fahad Ahmad on Wednesday. The couple hosted a qawwali night ahead of their grand reception.

Bhaker shared the pictures from the event and thanked Akhilesh Yadav for attending the qawwali night.

The Samajwadi Party chief also shared the photos and tweeted in Hindi congratulating the couple and wishing them a happy married life. There were also a few pictures of Akhilesh with Swara and her father Uday Bhasker, who is a retired military officer.

Swara Bhasker got married to Samajwadi Party’s Fahad Ahmad in February this year. They said in an interview that as an interfaith couple that does not convert, they could only marry in court. The couple is celebrating their marriage at Swara’s grandmother’s farmhouse in Delhi and have been hosting festivities like haldi, and mehendi as well as a Carnatic musical evening.

Post that, the couple hosted a ‘Qawwali night’ on Wednesday in which the couple adorned embroidered green and golden ethnic outfits. Swara and Fahad will host a grand reception soon to wrap up the wedding celebrations.

In a recent interview, Swara and Fahad had said that their wedding functions such as haldi, mehendi, sangeet and qawwali night will seek to ‘build a common tradition of celebrations’. They added that they were both ‘very conscious and proud’ of their identities as Hindu and Muslim, respectively.
