Akshay Kumar says history books are only writing about Mughals and not Kings, tweeple ask the actor to read NCERT books
Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who is actively promoting his next Samrat Prithviraj, landed himself in controversy on Wednesday. Recently, in an interview, the actor appealed the Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to include stories about Indian Kings like Prithivi Raj and Pratap Singh I in history textbooks.
Speaking to ANI, Akshay Kumar said nobody is there to write about it in history books. He further said he would like to appeal to the Education Minister to look into this matter and see if we can balance it. We should know about the Mughals but know about our kings also, they were great too, Kumar concluded.
A clip from the actor’s interview is doing rounds on the internet and drawing flak on social media. Users are bashing Kumar over his lack of knowledge and also asking him to go through NCERT books.

Reacting to the video, one user commented that there is an entire chapter on Prithviraj Chauhan in the class 7 NCERT history textbook. Jokingly he further wrote Canadian Kumar must be sleeping in his school during his history class.
Another user wrote that Akshay Kumar must have had schooled in Canada as Indian school NCERT history textbooks had enough and more on the Indian Kings!
Yet another user commented that clearly Akshay Kumar never went to school in India or studied from NCERT textbooks and he must have been tutored in RSS shakas.

Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court on Wednesday dismissed a petition against Samrat Prithviraj which stated that the ruler was being portrayed as a Rajput King and not a Grujar as claimed by the book on which the film is based.
Samrat Prithviraj also stars Manushi Chillar, Sanjay Dutt, and Sonu Sood in the lead roles. The film is all set to go on floors on June 3.
