Besharam Rang row: RTI activist Danish Khan files complaint with NHRC against Deepika Padukone, says the actor wore Chishti colour not saffron, demands removal of song
Ever since the release of Shah Rukh Khan-Deepika Padukone’s upcoming film Pathaan’s Besharam Rang song was released, the actors have been in deep hot water. Earlier, the right wing outfits and the BJP opposed it, and now the people of Muslim community have also begun protesting against it.

Song hurts sentiments of both Hindus and Muslims, reads complaint
The RTI activist wrote in his complaint that what people were calling saffron is actually Chishti colour, which is of great importance for the Muslims. This song hurts the sentiments of both Hindus and Muslims, so we demand that this song be removed from the film, complaint reads.
Why did the controversy start?
Pathaan’s song Besharam Rang has been released recently. Deepika Padukone is seen wearing a saffron-coloured bikini in this song. This song is being opposed in many parts of the country. Some people are demanding to ban this film and some want the song to be removed from the film.
Som say that saffron colour is a symbol of Hinduism and Deepika Padukone was wearing this colour and dancing on a song, which has lyrics as Besharam, and is quite objectionable. They believe that using a holy colour like saffron for bikini will not be accepted.
