Bhagwani Devi, 94, wins one gold and two bronze medals at World Masters Athletics Championship
Nonagenarian Bhagwani Devi Dagar made India proud yet again and proved age is no bar. The 94-year-old Bhagwani Deswal aka Bhagwani Devi of India stunned everyone with her historic win. She clinched one gold medal and two bronze medals at the World Masters Athletics Championships 2022. The sports event was held in Tampere, Finland.
Bhagwani Devi bagged the gold medal in the 100-metre race with a timing of 24.74 seconds, and she also won two bronze medals in Shot Put.
Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs, and Sports also commended the athlete on Twitter. The tweet read India’s 94-year-old Bhagwani Devi Ji has yet again proved that age is no bar! Bhagwani Devi has earlier won three gold medals at the National Masters Athletics Championships that was held in Chennai. Around 3500 competitors from 26 states competed in 13 different age groups at the event.
Bhagwani Devi has also won three gold medals in the 100-meter dash, shot put, and javelin throw at the Delhi State Athletics Championship.
