Malayalam star Bhavana Menon opens up about sexual assault by actor Dileep, says her identity was weighed down by the assault
Malayalam star Bhavana Menon on Monday, January 10 has opened up about being sexually assaulted. The actor penned a long note on her social media wherein she demanded justice. She also opened up about the humiliation she has faced over the years.
The alleged sexual assault incident took place in 2017 in Kerala and involves actor Dileep. Going by Menon’s Instagram post, she was abducted and molested for over two hours in a car. In a long note, she wrote that the journey from being a victim to becoming a survivor has not been easy for her.

Giving details about the incident, she wrote that for 5 years now, her name and her identity have been suppressed under the weight of the assault inflicted on her. She further clarifies that she had not committed the crime, however, there have been several attempts to humiliate, silence, and isolate her.
She further wrote that during her tough times she had some people who stepped forward to keep her voice alive. She decides to continue this journey to get justice and thanked everyone who stood and are standing with her.

On February 17, 2017, Bhavana Menon was allegedly abducted and sexually assaulted in Ernakulam district of Kerala. She was on her way back home after the shoot when a gang forcible boarded her case and molested her inside for two hours. As per media reports, Malayalam actor Dileep is said to be the prime accused in the incident.
