Bheed Trailer Released: Rajkummar Rao-Bhumi Pednekar starrer looks back on the horrors of lockdown
After a much-talked-about teaser, Anubhav Sinha has today released the trailer of his latest socially conscious film, Bheed. Starring Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar, the film revolves around the hardships the common people had to face during the lockdowns that were enforced because of Covid-19.
The trailer begins with Prime Minister Modi’s announcement of a nationwide lockdown that closed the borders of states and cities, forcing migrant workers to be stranded in metro cities, live without any wages, and struggle to make ends meet.
After the controversy that followed its teaser release, the trailer is getting a lot of appreciation on Twitter for showcasing the reality of the pandemic. Social media users are calling the trailer bold, brilliant, and hailing Anubhav Sinha for highlighting yet another important social story.

Rajkummar Rao plays a cop who tries to fight against the bias the lower caste people had to face during turbulent times. The film shows how the migrants were beaten by the police when they tried to cross borders and were sprayed with disinfectants, recalling the true incidents of the demeaning behaviour given to the less-equipped section of society.
Bheed is shot in black and white, as to draw parallels to the India-Pakistan partition of 1947. Anubhav Sinha tries to emphasize the struggle of the non-privileged strata of society.
The film also stars Dia Mirza, Kritika Kamra, Pankaj Kapur, and Ashutosh Rana. Bheed is set to hit the silver screen on March 24.
