3 people die, several admitted in hospital after consuming spurious liquor in Bihar's Saran district

Again! A horrific incident has been reported from Bihar’s Chhapra area of Saran district, where three people died after consuming spurious liquor. Reports also revealed that the death toll likely to climb further as many people who consumed the poisonous liquor were admitted to the hospital where their health condition is said to be serious.

News agency ANI also confirmed the news and shared the information about the same on its official Twitter handle. It wrote that 3 died, and bodies were sent for postmortem, these look like suspicious deaths. SP, S Kumar said that he has information that some more are receiving treatment at different places, ANI Tweeted.

The deceased’s family claimed that the cause of the death of their loved ones was illicit liquor. However, the police has sent the bodies for post mortem to know the actual cause of death.

Reports also say that the Madhapur DSP reached the hospital to check on people’s condition. It has been said that the police also started a search operation to reach all those people who consumed illicit liquor and hid somewhere to avoid questioning by the police as the supply of alcohol is not permitted in the state since April 2016.

Police said the investigation is going on and whoever responsible for the act, will not be spared.

Amid this, chaos was generated in the Bihar Assembly over the poisonous liquor that causes many deaths. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also launched a sharp attack on BJP, saying the party is selling spurious liquor in the state and is responsible for the matter. He also called the Narendra Modi-led party a drunkard. 

Meanwhile, this is not the first time such an incident come into the limelight. Earlier, a similar incident has been reported in Bihar where more than 10 people lost their lives after consuming illicit liquor.
