BSF shoots down Pakistani drone carrying 9 packets of heroin along border in Amritsar, seizes 10 kg drug
The Border Security Force (BSF) on Monday shot down a drone in Punjab’s Amritsar carrying heroin. The force said that the drone was coming from Pakistan. The BSF seized nine packets of heroin from the drone, foiling an attempt to smuggle heroin across the border.
BSF Punjab Frontier informed about the incident via tweet. The tweet read: Frontier BSF troops foiled another smuggling attempt through Pak drone. Vigilant BSF troops fired at the drone coming from Pak and brought it down. A drone carrying 9 packets suspected to be Heroin (10.670Kgs) in a bag were also recovered.

Punjab and Pakistan share a 553-kilometer barbed-wire-fenced international border, which is patrolled by almost 135 BSF battalions. The drug smuggling network runs along the Afghanistan-Pakistan-India route.
