UP: At least 2 die after oxygen cylinder explodes outside hospital in Chandauli, probe underway
A horrifying incident has come to light from Uttar Pradesh’s Chandauli where at least two people died after an oxygen cylinder exploded outside the hospital. The incident occurred around between 9 am and 9:30 am outside the Dayal Hospital in the Ravi Nagar area of Mughalsarai city.
According to the reports, the mishap took place while oxygen cylinders were being unloaded from a truck that was parked outside the hospital. The reports state that the blast was so intense that the glass in the hospital and surrounding homes was shattered as a result of the explosion.

Reportedly, the noise of the explosion was heard 500 meters away from the spot. Nearby residents also started hiding in their homes following the explosion.
Soon after the incident, both the local police chief and the Mughalsarai MLA reached the accident site. The police then took the dead bodies into custody which were lying on the road due to the explosion. The police submitted the bodies for an autopsy.
Security camera footage from the surrounding areas is being investigated, said a senior police officer.
A few days ago, two oxygen cylinders of a parked ambulance in the Besa area of Nagpur’s Revati Nagar exploded. Locals witnessed a thick blanket of smoke in the sky due to the blast. The Fire and Emergency Department immediately rushed to the site and brought the fire under control. No injuries were reported due to the accident.
