A day after shedding tears on being dismissed in what many former and current England cricketers called a pathetic way of being dismissed, England’s Charlie Dean on Sunday tried to run out non-striker during the final of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy 2022 which is being played on Sunday at the same venue.

Playing for Southern Vipers against Northern Diamonds, Dean was bowling the 8th over of the game and decided to playfully run out non-striker end player Linsey Smith, who managed to keep her one leg inside the return crease.

With a caption, Charlie Dean less than 24 hours later, England’s Barmy Barmy shared a video of the same on social media.

Dean was into her run-up when she tried to emulate the same dismissal that had cost England the match on Saturday. However, non-striker Smith had her foot well within the crease. The two then shared a laugh over it.

Dean’s act led to Twitter full of reactions with most of them praising the all-rounder for moving on quickly from the controversy and showing a strong character.

Dean was on 40 when Deepti dismissed her in the Lord’s ODI. England was reeling at 118/9 in a chase of 170 to avoid a series sweep against India. However, when Deepti felt that the match is slipping out of India’s hands, she showcased excellent game awareness to run out Dean for backing up too much. Dean’s dismissal helped India win the match by 16 runs
