Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday said that every leader of the party is responsible for the defeat of Congress in five state elections. He further said that it was not just the top leadership that was responsible for the failure of the party.

Kharge said that they told Sonia Gandhi that she alone is not responsible for the defeat in 5 states. He further said that every state leader and MP is responsible, and not just Gandhi family. He said that they reimposed their faith in her, there is no question of offering resignation.

Kharge further talked about the Congress Working Committee meeting that took place on Sunday and said that they discussed the strategies for strengthening the party. He said that they will fight BJP and its ideology, they will push their ideology, and in the next elections, they will do much better.

In the Congress Working Committee meeting, top leaders were present like Congress chief ministers Bhupesh Baghel, Ashok Gehlot, and former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Harish Rawat.

Talking about the elections, in the five state assembly elections, Congress lost in all the five states- Goa, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Manipur. The result of the elections was declared on March 10.

In other news, Government oil companies have released the new rates of petrol and diesel on Monday. Even today, there has been no change in the oil prices in metropolitan cities. However, there are speculations that the prices of petrol and diesel may fall by Rs 2-3.
