Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge questions PM Modi’s silence on spreading hatred in country, calls him mouni baba
Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge addressed the Upper House on Wednesday and launched an attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Kharge, in his address, questioned PM Modi’s mum on the people spreading hatred in the country.
Kharge, while targeting PM Modi, also called him as mouni baba after which the Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar intervened and told the Congress chief that as he is a very senior member, such remarks don’t suit him.
Following Kharge’s remark on PM Modi, the Upper House erupted in protest as many members called Kharge out on his remarks.

Kharge in his address also targeted PM Modi on the Adani issue as he said that the Prime Minister had said that na khaunga na khane dunga in 2014, he then followed up by questioning the rampant increase of wealth of PM Modi’s closest friend by 13 times in the span of two-and-a-half years.
The Congress leader added and said that he doesn’t know what magic happened that PM Modi’s close friend’s assets touched 12 lakh crore and questioned if it happened due to the friendship between the PM Modi and Adani.
The Congress leader in his address also said that one farmer in Gujarat was denied a no-objection certificate owing to a debt of 31 paise, however, he added and said that debts of crores are cleared.
Kharge was interrupted by the Speaker as he made the allegations against PM Modi and told Kharge that the discourse can’t go to allegations which he can’t substantiate and added that he can’t allow the house to be a platform for such claims.
The Upper House witnessed a commotion in the parliament following Kharge’s attack on the prime minister Narendra Modi and his government.
The remarks by Kharge comes a day after Congress’s former President, Rahul Gandhi also spoke on the same as claiming that the policies and rules were altered and overlooked to favour the Adani group.
