Pathaan OTT release date: Delhi High Court directs filmmakers to make changes for visually and hearing impaired audience
Ahead of the theatrical release of the much-awaited film Pathaan, the makers have now released its OTT date. However, the Delhi High Court on Monday instructed the production company Yash Raj Films to make some changes to the film, starring Deepika Padukone, Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham in lead roles, for its OTT release.
According to the reports, the court has asked the makers to add subtitles, close captioning and audio descriptions in Hindi for hearing and visually impaired people to enjoy the film on OTT platforms.
Pathaan which has been approved by the Central Board of Film Certification for its theatrical release will now have to re-submit the changes to CBFC for re-certification. The court directed the producers to submit the details by February 20 and also ordered the CBFC to take a decision by March 10.
Helmed by Siddharth Anand, Pathaan will release on Amazon Prime Video on April 25.
The plea was moved by various PwDs, including a law student, lawyers and the Executive Director of the National Association for the Deaf, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (I&B) seeking enforcement of various rights and accessibility requirements as prescribed under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.

The court has not directed any changes in its theatrical release, which is set to hit the silver screen on January 25.
Earlier, the Censor Board directed the makers to remove partial nudity from its song Besharam Rang, including close-up shots of buttocks, shots during the lyrics ‘bahut tang kiya’, and the side pose.
Apart from Besharam Rang, several other changes were suggested by the Censor Board. Words like RAW, Langde Lulle, Ashok Chakra, ex-KGB, Mrs Bharatmata, Sanvidhan, Scotch, and Black Prison Russia have been replaced by Hamare, Toote Foote, Veer Puraskar, ex-SBU, Hamari Bharatmata, Vagairah, Drink, Black Prison respectively.
