Once again, the election of the mayor of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi could not be held. The House of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi was adjourned sine die on Tuesday. In such a situation, the election of the mayor got stuck again. The House was adjourned after continuous uproar by BJP councillors. However, before this all the councillors took oath. When the meeting ended on January 6, the proceedings of the House were started on Tuesday. During this, all the nominated members were sworn in one by one amidst the slogans of the councillors.
After this, all the elected councillors were administered the oath. At the same time, during the oath ceremony, BJP leaders raised slogans of Jai Shri Ram and of Bharat Mata Ki Jai. Not only this, during the swearing-in ceremony of councillors in the House of Municipal Corporation of Delhi, amidst the ruckus of AAP-BJP leaders, suddenly the slogan of Bageshwar Dham echoed.
BJP councilor Ram Kishore Sharma from ward number 202 chanted Bageshwar Dham after taking oath. Already there was apprehension of uproar in the MCD Mayor election.

Notably, the elections to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi were held on December 4 and the counting of votes took place on December 7. The Aam Aadmi Party ended the 15-year rule of the BJP in the MCD by winning 134 wards. The BJP won 104 wards in the 250-member MCD house, while the Congress won nine.
On the other hand, the candidates for the post of Mayor of Municipal Corporation of Delhi are Shelly Oberoi and Ashu Thakur from Aam Aadmi Party, while Rekha Gupta from BJP. Shelly Oberoi is the main contender of AAP. The candidates for the post of Deputy Mayor are Aale Mohammad Iqbal and Jalaj Kumar from AAP, while Kamal Bagdi is from BJP.
