The IMD forecast indicates that the maximum temperature is likely to be around 17 degrees on Monday. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 20 degrees by Friday for the coming week. Similarly, by Thursday, the minimum temperature may rise to almost 8 degrees.
The meteorological department said due to the continuation of prevailing light winds and high moisture near the surface over Indo-Gangetic plains, dense to very dense fog is very likely to continue in some/many parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh during days and in isolated pockets thereafter for subsequent three days over the region.
On Tuesday, there’s also a chance of moderate to intense fog. The rest of the week is expected to be cloudy as well, but on Wednesday and Thursday, the intensity might drop to shallow to moderate fog. A western disturbance that will be hitting regions of northwest India from January 10 to 13 could result in very light rainfall on Thursday, according to the IMD prediction.
