Fake doctor booked after infant dies during surgery in Uttar Pradesh's Etah
Police in Uttar Pradesh’s Etah have lodged a case against an alleged ‘fake doctor’ who operated on a two-and-and-a-half-month-old baby boy leading to the infant’s death during surgery, officials said on Thursday.
According to the police, the fake doctor, identified as Tilak Singh, conducted a minor surgery on the baby boy who died due to excessive bleeding during the operation.
An official said that Tilak Singh allegedly fled the scene without informing the family about the baby’s demise during surgery.
A report quoting Chief Medical Officer Umesh Chandra Tripathi said the health department has ordered an investigation into the incident.
CMO Tripathi said the police has registered an FIR into the matter, adding that further probe is underway.
In a similar incident, in February, a fake doctor running an illegal clinic and selling illicit abortion drugs to his patients managed to escape health department officials of Gurugram and Faridabad, who were trying to arrest him after they got wind of the situation.

According to reports at the time, a team of Gurugram Health Department officials arrived at the scene to arrest the man after receiving information that a fake doctor was running an illegal practice under the name of Chandsi Clinic in Haryana’s Faridabad, and selling prohibited abortion drugs to people.
However, the impostor managed to resist the arrest and give slip to the officials, reports said. The incident was caught on camera and went viral on social media platforms.
A report quoting Senior Medical Officer, Doctor Maan Singh of Faridabad said that on Sunday morning, a team of Gurugram and Faridabad arrived at the clinic set up a covert operation to trap the fake doctor. The officials brought a fake customer who after paying Rs 500 to the conman, was sent to take the banned medicine.
Giving details, Dr Mann revealed that the fake doctor not only gave the woman illegal abortion medicine but also taught her how to consume it. Soon, the fake customer the team of health department officials who arrived at the scene in a bid to arrest the pretender.
However, the fake doctor managed to resist arrest with the help of the crowd and managed to slip away, the official said.
