A car parking in Uttar Pradesh’s Firozabad turned into ocean after record-breaking heavy rain affected the normal life in parts of UP.


The flooded roads and damaged houses in Firozabad clearly indicates about the devastation that 48 mm rainfall in 24 hours has brought to a city not designed for such weather events.

A video of ocean-like car parking is doing rounds on social media.


The viral video shows how hundreds of cars in a parking lot were nearly submerged in floodwater following the deluge. While some cars can be seen half- drowning into rain water, others in the back are almost completely underwater.

However, the exact location of the car parking in Firozabad has not been identified yet.

The record breaking rain in parts of Uttar Pradesh affected the normal life of the people of the state. The 48 hours continue rains led to several rain related incidents like wall collapse, lightening and waterlogging in Etawah, Aligarh and Firozabad.

At least 10 people were killed, 7 in Etawah and 11 injured in incidents of lightning and wall collapses as heavy rains in parts of Uttar Pradesh. The record-breaking rains forced the closure of schools in Aligarh.

Apart from Etawah where 7 deceased included 4 children of a family died due to heavy rain in Uttar Pradesh. It has also been reported from Firozabad (2) and Balrampur (1) districts since Wednesday, the officials said.

In an another incident, one child died and 8 others were injured in a wall collapse incident following heavy rain in Firozabad.

District administration provided immediate help and relief to the people affected by heavy rains. 13 people died due to heavy rain while 3 died due to lightning. 10 people died due to the wall collapse in Etawah, Sudhir Garg, the principal secretary of revenue department said.
