French Open Semi Finals: Rafael Nadal’s kindness towards injured Alexander Zverev wins Internet, Sachin Tendulkar and Ravi Shastri hail his humility

The French Open semi-final 2022 should be remembered for the right reasons. The world’s No. 5, Rafael Nadal and his sweet gesture towards rival Alexander Zverev has won the internet. Moreover, Nadal has also entered the finals after Alexander was forced to retire after injuring his ankle.

But what did win the hearts of the viewers was Rafael’s sweet gesture towards Zverev. Priorly, after hurting his ankle, Alexander left the court on a wheel chair. But moments later he returned to finish the match. As soon as Zverev entered the court, Rafael Nadal hugged the German Tennis player and applauded him for showing sportsman spirit.

Talking about the same post-match, Rafael said that it was human of him to feel sorry for a fellow sportsman. Nadal further said that he hopes that Alexander is not too badly injured and wishes that his ankle’s not broken.

Former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar took to his official Twitter handle to applaud Nadal. He posted a picture of Rafael walking beside Alexzander, who was walking with the help of crunches and wrote, “The humility and concern shown by Nadal is what makes him so special.”

Not only Sachin but former Indian coach, Ravi Shastri also took to social media to hail the humanitarian gesture of Rafael Nadal. Posting a similar picture, Shastri wished for Alexzander’s quick recovery and applauded Nadal. “This is why sport can make you cry. You will be back Alexzander. And Rafael your Sportsmanship, humility is just brilliant. Respect,” Shastri wrote on Twitter.

During a the end pf second set, Zverev had hurt his ankle badly and left the court on a wheel chair. However, he came back to finish the game but was unable to do so and was eventually forced to retire. Now, Nadal will play his 14th French Open final against Casper Rudd.
