Twitter users fume over Gautam Gambhir's comment on AB de Villiers saying he played for personal records
Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir keeps getting a lot of headlines for his statement. An today too the Lucknow Super Giants head coach has made a controversial statement. During the program of Star Sports, Gambhir talked about de Villiers’ record made in IPL and said that de Villiers played only for his record and not for the team in IPL.
Gambhir’s comment has shocked fans of de Villiers and they are venting their anger on social media. Twitter users expressed their dismay and said that it disheartens to see one legend talk about other with such humiliation.
Gambhir talked about Mr. 360* de Villiers and said, ‘De Villiers played only for his record while playing for RCB, any batsman can score runs at Chinnaswamy Stadium. There you get the pitch according to the batting. For the unversed, Chinnaswamy Stadium is the home ground of RCB in IPL.

ABD in IPL
In IPL, AB de Villiers has scored 5162 runs while playing 184 matches, in which he did a great job of scoring 3 centuries and 40 half-centuries. De Villiers also managed to hit 231 sixes in the IPL. In fact, the RCB team has not been able to win the IPL title once again under AB. The former cricketer has bid goodbye to playing international cricket but will be the mentor of RCB in the coming future.
Gautam Gambhir’s IPL career
On the other hand, Gambhir started his IPL career with Delhi Daredevils in the year 2008 and then joined the Kolkata Knight Riders team in 2011 as a captain. After that, he has also led Kolkata to the title twice in 2012 and 2014 under his captaincy. The former India opener has scored 4218 runs in 154 IPL matches, with 36 half-centuries to his name.
