WATCH: Tennis player slaps opponent after losing ITF juniors tournament in Ghana
A controversy broke out during the Internation Tennis Federation juniors tournament in Ghana when a French tennis player slapped his opponent in the face after losing a match on Monday. The incident was captured by the viewers who were present there and its video soon went viral.
However, it is not clear yet why Kouame slapped his opponent.
Michael Kouame and Raphael Nii Ankrah are the players who were involved in a shocking incident.
On Monday, 15-year-old Michael Kouame lost to Raphael Nii Ankrah 2-6 7-6 6-7 in the first round of an ITF juniors tournament in Accra, the capital city of Ghana. As the players went to shake hands at the end of the three-set contest, Kouame slapped Ankrah across the face with his left hand.

A video of the incident quickly circulated on social media, including footage of ugly fisticuffs that erupted on the court immediately afterward.
According to Jenna Lemoncelli of the New York Post, 15-year-old Michael Kouame of France met Ghana’s Raphael Nii Ankrah at center court for a handshake where he slapped him in the face. Multiple people then appeared to get involved and a fight ensued.
The footage which has been viewed more than 7.38 lakh times on Twitter was initially shared by the Functional Tennis podcast.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, the podcast removed the video but a tennis coach obtained the video and posted it on Twitter after which it went viral, according to New York Post.
