Gol Maal actor Manju Singh passes away after suffering heart attack
The veteran actor Manju Singh passed away after suffering a heart attack. She was a yesteryear actor and television presenter. She was popular for her role in the 1979 film Gol Maal. The news of her demise was shared by lyricist singer and screenwriter Swanand Kirkire.
Kirkire shared a tweet in which he wrote that Manju Singh is no more! Manju ji brought him from Delhi to Mumbai to write her show Swaraj for Doordarshan! He made many wonderful shows Ek Kahani, Show Time etc for DD. Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s Golmaal Ki Ratna Hamari Pyaari Manju ji how can you forget your love.. Goodbye!
Manju Singh had produced several successful shows in the Indian television industry including Ek Kahani, Swaraj, Show Time, Adhikar, Khel Khilone, and others. She also acted in a few Hindi films including Golmaal, Ladies Tailor, Hanky Panky, Screen Two, and several others.
After working in rib-tickling films and children’s shows, Manju Singh founded the WorldKids Foundation with the motto of Entertainment With a Purpose in 2017. The foundation organises global children’s film festivals and also teaches educational films to classrooms.
Singh was also associated with multiple international festivals for both children and young adults. For her notable works in the area, she received recognition and was nominated as a member of the Central Advisory Board of Education (CABE) by the government of India in 2015.
