Gama Pehlwan Birthday: Google Doodle celebrates 144th birthday of undefeated wrestler
Google has created a doodle to honor Indian wrestler Gama Wrestler ‘The Great Gama’. In fact, today is his 144th birthday. Google has honored him by creating a special doodle. He was born on May 22, 1878, in Jabbowal village of Punjab province, which was known as British India at that time. Gama wrestler’s childhood was full of difficulties. After the death of his father and grandfather, he spent his life with his uncle who was a wrestler.
Interest in wrestling and exercise
From a very young age, he was interested in intense exercise and wrestling. Gama wrestler participated in a competition at the age of 10 and claimed that he will top the spot by making his place among 400 people. From then, his interest in wrestling grew and he started taking the training. Gama wrestler used to do 5000 squats and 3000 push-ups daily, during training.
From 1890 to 1910, the great Gama continued to compete against the greatest wrestlers in India and won all the matches. Only his match against the national champion was drawn. After this Gama Pehlwan defeated Pehlwans on many national and international forums and enhanced the prestige of India. Even after winning many matches and playing five thousand matches for many decades in his career, he remained undefeated.

Google Doodle is celebrating his birthday in which he can be seen standing strong in between the Google Doodle, on his 144th birthday. In his right hand, a silver mace can be seen. This mace was given to him by the Prince of Wales.
