Gully Boy rapper MC TodFod aka Dharmesh Parmar passes away at 24, Ranveer Singh, Siddhant Chaturvedi mourns
MC TodFod aka Dharmesh Parmar, who shot to fame through his rap in the 2018 movie Gully Boy, passed away at the age of 24. He was associated with Mumbai’s multilingual hip-hop group Swadesi. The news about his demise was shared by Swadesi’s label Azadi Records and management company 4/4 Entertainment. The cause of his death is yet to be confirmed.
Actors of Gully Boy movie Ranveer Singh and Siddhant Chaturvedi also mourned the demise of MC TodFod. Ranveer shared an Instagram story in which he shared a picture of the rapper who lent his voice to the song India 91 for Gully Boy. He added a broken heart emoticon.

Siddhant also shared a story in which he shared a screenshot of his conversation with MC TodTod, in which they are were appreciating each other for their music and performance. Siddhant wrote RIP Bhai, along with a broken-heart emoticon.

According to reports, the investigation is taking place to find out the reason behind MC TodFod’s death.
Swadesi, the collective of which TodFod was a part, also shared a clip from TodFod’s last performance and wrote that it was with this night that TodFod performed his last ever gig at Swadesi Mela. You had to be there to experience it, his thrill his love for playing live music. You are never forgotten, you will always live through with your music.
According to Rolling Stones India, TodFod’s songs has a theme of standing up against ‘corrupt institutions’. His tracks also stood for environmental and human rights. TodFod’s recent track was Truth and Bass and it was released on March 8. He also made a track on the cutting of trees in the Aarey forest in Mumbai. The track was titled The Warli Revolt, for which they collaborated with Adivasi activist Prakash Bhoir, who stood up against the cutting of trees in the Aarey forest.
