Captain Hardik put forward his point and said that he has no problem in playing the role that MS Dhoni used to play. Pandya further added that at that time, he was young and was hitting shots all around the ground. But now since Dhoni has left the team, suddenly that responsibility has come on him to play the finisher and he has no objection to it. ‘We are getting results, if I have to play a little slow then there is no point in that too,’ added Pandya.

For the unversed, in the third T20 match, while batting, Hardik played an inning of 30 runs in 17 balls, while bowling, he was successful in taking 4 wickets. Hardik showed a great game in the whole series. Under the captaincy of Hardik, India has succeeded in winning the fourth consecutive T20 series. Captain Hardik in T20, has led Men In Blue in 12 matches and has won 8 of India’s matches.

Moreover, reports even suggest that BCCI and the selectors are all set to announce Hardik Pandya as the regular T20 captain, as they want senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit to focus on longer formats and add youngsters in the T20 format.

And with this finally India will have split captaincy after a lot written and said about the same. While Virat Kohli wanted to leave the T20 format captain and continue with ODIs and Tests, the then BCCI president Sourav Ganguly was not much in favour and Kohli was ousted from ODI captaincy. Later he himself left the Test captaincy too.
