Talking about the changes, the company is likely to make some noticeable cosmetic changes. Apart from this, additional features will be added to the City.

Due to the forthcoming Real Driving Emissions (RDE) requirements, the firm will discontinue its diesel engines in India with the facelift, making the City a petrol-only sedan. Meanwhile, it is anticipated that the gasoline and hybrid powertrains will be modified to comply with the RDE standards and the E20 fuel standard (20 percent ethanol blend). As a result, the 121hp, 1.5-liter petrol engine is anticipated to be offered in the City facelift, pairing it with either a 6-speed manual or CVT automatic gearbox.

At the moment, Honda only provides the e:HEV powertrain on the top-of-the-line ZX version. It costs much more than the regular City gasoline, which currently has a top price of Rs 15.62 lakh (ex-showroom). Honda will reportedly release a more economical City e:HEV trim, bridging the gap between gasoline and hybrid vehicles.
