An IIT Delhi student died while another was injured in a hit-and-run outside their campus late Tuesday night.
The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Ashraf Nawaz Khan, while the injured, Ankur Shukla (29), who suffered a broken leg, is undergoing treatment at Max Hospital in Saket. Both are PhD students at IIT Delhi, police said.
They said that the duo was hit by a speeding car while crossing the main road near the campus and were rushed to Safdarjung hospital where Ashraf succumbed to his injuries.
The police said the students were returning from dinner at the SDA Market located opposite the IIT Delhi campus when a car came in from Nehru Place and hit them.
