IND vs IRE T20: Sanju Samson, Ruturaj Gaikwad get another chance before the return of seniors
Indian players including Ruturaj Gaikwad and Sanju Samson have reached Ireland for the upcoming IND vs IRE T20 series. Both of these struggling players will be getting another chance after the IND vs SA T20 series. This could also be the last chance for Samson and Gaikwad to prove their mettle before the senior players return from England.
While IPL 2022 winning captain Hardik Pandya is excited to mark his much-anticipated International captaincy debut, the two match series against Ireland will again witness a miss from KL Rahul. With Rishabh Pant joining the Indian force in England Hardik Pandya also has a golden opportunity to prove his capabilities as an Indian captain.
Moreover, after lifting the IPL trophy as a captain that too in the debut season, Hardik Pandya has made people having high hopes for him. But another fact can also not be ignored that due to in juries and availability of several Indian players,
India have been forced to hand the captaincy duties to too many players.
Injured Suryakumar Yadav who left IPL 2022 mid way, will make a comeback in the IND vs IRE T20 Series. Moreover, Shreyas Iyre and Deepak Hooda will also join the Indian team on Irish land.
Where Ishan Kishan has made it clear with his performance that his opener seat is already registered, it’s his opening partner Ruturaj Gaikwad, who will be having pressure, especially after having discomfort against high-quality fast bowling in the previous series.
On the other side, it is a make-or-break situation for Sanju Samson who has not been able establish himself in the T20 set up despite getting several opportunities.
And while the Indian head coach Rahul Dravid is currently withy the senior players in Leicester practicing for the IND vs IRE last Test match which will also be followed by the One Day Internationals and T20 Series, the NCA Chief VVS Laxman will be filling in for the Indian coach for India tour of Ireland.
