India has defeated New Zealand at their home ground and number three batter Suryakumar Yadav should be given the credits for it. Men in Blue lost the toss to black caps and coming to bat first they gave a giant total of 192 runs for hosts to chase.
But Indian bowling shredded the New Zealand’s batting line up and won the match by 65 runs. Suryakumar Yadav scored his second T20I century at Bay Oval and after made 111 runs in 51 balls with the help of 11 fours and 7 sixes. With this Suryakumar Yadav has come the second Indian batter to score 2 T20 international century in the same year.
On the other hand, New Zealand batters might not have been able to contribute but their bowling and fielding was top notch. Tim Southee took his second Hat-Trick in T20 format by dismissing Indian skipper Hardik Pandya at 13, Deepika Hooda and Washington Sundar at 0s.
Coming to bat first, India’s number three batsman Suryakumar Yadav did a fabulous job. That too, when India was not in a great place when he came to bat. Batting first after losing the toss, India’s start was nothing special. India’s first wicket fell on the score of 36 runs, when Rishabh Pant was dismissed after scoring six runs in 13 balls. After this, Ishaan Kishan took India’s score past 50 by scoring some fast runs, but he too got out after scoring 36 runs in 31 balls.
But at one end, Suryakumar Yadav took charge and scored runs at a brisk pace, but wickets kept falling at the other end. Shreyas Iyer gave away his place with a hit wicket after scoring 13 runs in 9 balls. But with SKY’s 111, India gave a huge total of 192 for New Zealand to chase.
With this win, Team India has taken a winning lead in the 2 match T20 series against New Zealand. Now the third and last match will be played at Napier on November 22 at 12 pm. If India losses the match, the series will be declared draw but if India wins the 3T30I then they’ll clean swipe New Zealand at their home ground.
