Instagram Down: Users flock to Twitter to share their anger and frustration with hilarious memes, check the best ones here
The photo and video sharing app Instagram was down on Thursday for several users around the world at around 10 am. Many Instagram users are complaining about lag as they are unable to send messages or log into the app. Users complained of not receiving or sending DMs, posting photos, sharing stories, or refreshing their Instagram.
Instagram took to Twitter to share the news with its users. The tweet read We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing Instagram. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible. Sorry for any inconvenience, and hang tight!
According to a real-time problem and outage monitoring website, Downdetector, nearly 19,000 users were having trouble accessing the social network. And what was next? Users took to Twitter and shared their anger and frustration with the hashtag InstagramDown.
One of the users wrote that Just slapped my wifi router only to realize that Instagram was down. Another commented, Me opening and closing Instagram every five minutes to see if it’s back up.

Yet another wrote Me uninstalling and reinstalling Instagram to see if my wifi is broken.
A fourth user wrote, Me after checking my connection and restarting my phone 5 times to finally know Instagram is down again. Another user commented, Whenever Instagram crashes, I rush to see if everyone got the same problem.
Meta spokesperson Devi Narasimhan told the media that earlier today, a technical issue caused some people to have trouble accessing Instagram. We resolved the issue as quickly as possible, and apologize for any inconvenience, he added.
It is not the first time Instagram faced outage issues. Earlier in May, the popular photo and video sharing platform suffered an outage across India. Instagram was down in several cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Jaipur, Lucknow and Indore among others, as per outage detection site Downdetector.com.
