The IPL 20223 auction this time will be a mini-auction with no retention limits as there was a mega auction last season. It is expected from the Indian premier league cricket teams to be releasing players who won’t be making the cut, whereas other teams are also expected to come in to add more depth and options to their powerful line-up by picking up some diamonds in the rough.

Among other conversations of different players, South Africa’s AB De Villiers has been on the top of the list as the retired star batsman is expected to make a return to the cricketing world in the role of a coach for his former side, Royal Challengers Bangalore ahead of IPL 2023. Another IPL side, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who finished second last in last year’s IPL had an upsetting season as even the CSK’s skipper, Ravindra Jadeja was on the receiving end of a lot of scrutiny on their losing bout. Ravindra Jadeja, after receiving a lot of flak was also robbed of his role as captain toward the end of the season.

The star all-rounder, added to the controversy as he left camp after his injury and also deleted all of the CSK-associated posts from his social media account, which many decrypted to be a sign of him parting ways with the Chennai Super Kings. However, Dhoni’s last word might have changed the trend of both the management, as well as for the star all-rounder. It is being speculated that Ravindra Jadeja while retaining his spot in the team will also be taking over the role of captaincy again.
