The prison management has recently introduced an offer under which it is allowing tourists across the country to have a real jail experience at the starting price of Rs 500 per night.

In order to give a proper jail feel, the prison management puts extra effort to make it more real for the people. It is transforming an abandoned portion of the jail only for tourists who are looking to try something unique to for their upcoming staycation.

Taking about the same, the prison’s deputy jail superintendent Satish Sukhija to the media that the jail has been receiving orders from the top officials from the police department to allow people to spend a few hours in the cell. He said the management said let people enjoy how the experience of how jail cells feel.

Sukhija also revealed that he also pushed the proposal to allow visitors to spend time in jail to the Inspector-General of Prisons. He said even the concerned department not only appreciated the thought but also motivated Sukhija to send in a detail and let them know how the management is working regarding the same.

According to the reports, a jail official told the media that the step would be beneficial for those who are advised by their astrologers to spend a period of time in jail so that they can get rid of ‘Bandhan Yog’.

Reacting to the jail tourism, some internet users appreciated the steps while some sarcastically criticised it. One of the internet users wrote on Twitter that now people do not have to commit a crime in order to have the feel of jail. All credit goes to Uttrakhan’s Haldwani, user added.
