Incriminating documents related to the case were uncovered during the November 30 raids and a case was registered against 20 persons, including former JKSSB member Neelam Khajuria, section officer Anju Raina, and Karnail Singh, who was then a medical officer of the BSF frontier headquarters.

Karnail Singh was also an accused in the J&K Police Sub-Inspector recruitment examination scam case.

According to the FIR lodged by the CBI, there were allegations regarding malpractices in the examination and the Government of J&K constituted an inquiry committee to look into the same.

The FIR added that the report of the committee revealed the alleged conspiracy amongst officials of JKSSB, private company based at Bengaluru, beneficiary candidates and others causing gross irregularities in conduct of examination.

During investigation, the CBI uncovered that the question paper was leaked to selected high profile candidates, officials said.

The probe agency said that it was also discovered that the JKSSB had violated rules by assigning the task of setting question paper to a Bengaluru-based private company, adding that cases of forgery were also revealed.
