In an attempt to draw the attention of the Jharkhand government on the poor condition of highways across the state, the Congress MLA first entered into the flooded NH 133 and then took a bath in muddy water.

A video of Congress’ woman MLA’s symbolic bath in muddy water is doing rounds on social media.

In the video, the MLA can be seen sitting on the muddy water and taking a bath from the water restored in potholes. There were some people around her when she was taking a bath on the road.

While protesting, the woman Congress MLA took bath on the road in a symbolic gesture and also demanded to repair the Nation Highway 133 which is located on the Jharkhand-Bihar border.

Criticising the BJP MP Nishikant Dubey for his apathy towards this issue, the woman MLA said the road had earlier been repaired multiple times but the condition deteriorates after every repair.

Singh poured muddy water all over her saying she will not get up from the road till the work to repair it starts. The road has been in a bad condition for a long time and accidents happen on the road every day, she also said.

She does not want to get involved in the fight between the state government and the Centre. She would request the chief minister to get it done as people are facing problems everyday at the NH-133, Singh said.

Singh also said she had been demanding that repair be undertaken of the stretch of the highway for a long, but assembly committee officials did not visit the spot.

The NHAI had taken the responsibility to fill the potholes of NH-133 in May 2022 but the Centre does not provide funds to repair the highway.
