Twitter suspends Kanye West's account once again, Elon Musk says he tried his best
Newly-minted Twitter CEO Elon Musk suspended American rapper Kanye West Twitter account once again for violating the micro-blogging platform’s rules. The rapper’s account was suspended on Thursday night just two months after his account was reinstated.
Musk, who describes himself as an ardent supporter of free speech, had greeted the rapper, now going by the name Ye, when he returned to the social media platform in October. However, Tesla’s CEO confirmed the suspension of the 22-time Grammy Awardee from Twitter’s account.
When a user asked Musk to bring back Praise God rapper account back, Musk replied that he tried his best. Despite that, he again violated the platform’s rule against incitement to violence. The account will be suspended.
The move came after Dark Fantasy rapper posted a picture that appeared to be a Nazi swastika inside a Star of David, a religious symbol of Judaism. He even indicated this logo to be used in his 2024 presidential campaign.
Just before his account was suspended, Ye tweeted out an unflattering picture of a shirtless Musk aboard a yacht with Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel spraying him with a hose and wrote Let’s always remember this as my final tweet.
Musk then gave clarification that Ye was being booted from the social media platform not for the picture but because of violating Twitter’s rules. He wrote Just clarifying that his account is being suspended for incitement to violence, not an unflattering picture of me being hosed by Ari. He frankly said she found those pics to be helpful motivation to lose weight!
Ye received a tweet from Musk earlier this week, who asked him to refrain from criticizing others and pointed him to the New Testament teachings of Jesus.
