Karnataka BJP MLA CT Ravi distributes sarees as freebies ahead of polls, voters burn them, video viral
Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA C.T. Ravi on Sunday distributed sarees as freebies to the people of Chikkamagaluru for the upcoming Ugadi festival. However, the incident went wrong as people thought he is distributing freebies in lieu of votes.
People burnt the sarees and condemned the idea of the BJP leader for distributing sarees to women in a bid to entice them to vote for the upcoming assembly elections in Karnataka. The incident has been captured on camera.
People set the sarees on fire and vented out their anger at the BJP. The residents of the Chikkamagaluru district complained that the BJP MLA should listen to their issues instead of distributing freebies. They said the BJP didn’t listen to their issues in the last four years and now they are convincing voters to vote for saffron by distributing sarees.
