Popular Telugu actor Uppalapati Venkata Krishnam Raju breathed his last at 3:25 am in midnight on Sunday. The veteran actor died due to a cardiac arrest at 83. Krishnam Raju was undergoing treatment at the AIG Hospitals, Gachibowli, Hyderabad.
The Rebel actor is survived by his wife Shyamala Devi and three daughters- Praseedi, Prakeerthi and Pradeepthi. He was the paternal uncle of Bahubali fame Prabhas.

Krishnam Raju was also known as a Rebel star for his rebellious acting style. Bhakta Kannappa and Kataktala Rudraiah are his notable films. He had starred in more than 183 feature films in his career and had won several awards, including five Filmfare Awards South and three state Nandi Awards.
During the late and former Prime Minister Vajpayee’s tenure, he also got into politics and held the position of Union Minister.
The actor’s immortal remains are expected to be brought to his home after noon, and the funeral is expected to take place on Monday afternoon, said one of his family members.
