The Chief Justice of India, NV Ramana asked the lawyer that appeared for the Uttar Pradesh government and it appears from the report of the monitoring judge that he recommended the cancellation of bail and recommended that an application should be filed for this, but why was this not done?
Replying to this, the UP government’s counsel said that he have no information about this, he has not even seen the report, nor had the instructing standing counsel seen it. After this, he went out of the courtroom to call the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh over the phone and then informed the court that the Chief Secretary’s office had not received the recommendation letter from the SIR or the monitoring judge.

After all this, the SC then asked the registrar to provide a copy of the report filed by the monitoring judge on February 22 to both the counsel of the government and the petitioners. Mahesh Jethmalani, who is appearing for Ashish Mishra also took a copy and urged to adjourn the next hearing to Monday. CJ NV Ramana granted the request but also said that the matter has been prolonged for more than a month.
