The government has raised Rs 20,500 crore from the sale of its 3.5 percent stake in the country’s largest insurance company. LIC’s IPO is the largest-ever initial public offering in the country.

Before the LIC IPO, the amount raised from Paytm’s initial share sale in 2021 was the biggest ever at Rs 18,300 crore, followed by Coal India (2010) at around Rs 15,500 crore and Reliance Power (2008) at Rs 11,700 crore.

LIC shares will be allotted to the applicants on May 12, 2022. The shares of the insurance giant will be listed on the stock market on May 17.

How to Check LIC IPO Allotment

  • To check the status of your application in LIC’s IPO, you need to visit https://www.bseindia.com/investors/appli_check.aspx
  • Once you reach the page, you will have to enter the required details.
  • These details are issue type, issue name, application number, and permanent account number (PAN).

The shares reserved for qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) were subscribed 2.83 times, while non-institutional investors were subscribed 2.91 times and retail individual investors (RIIs) were subscribed 1.99 times, according to the statistics. Besides that, the policyholder’s section was 6.12 times subscribed, while the worker’s segment was 4.40 times enrolled.
