Lucknow: locals confront intoxicated Police official after car accident | WATCH

A story has come to light from Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow where a Police official along with his friend were reportedly drunk driving after which they crashed into a cart. The reports also suggest that the group had tried to flee the scene of crime, however, was chased and stopped by the locals.

The video of the locals confronting the intoxicated police personnel went viral on social media. The incident reportedly transpired in Banthara district.

In the video, a police official can be seen being questioned and confronted by the locals over the accident. The relative of the man who also suffered in the accident can be seen questioning the official. In the video, it can be heard that the victim in the accident was recently married.

The police official can also be seen citing that the cart was coming from the wrong side which led to the accident. The official also explained to the relative that it was a mistake. The people can be heard agitated by the police official reason as they can be heard asking that whatever the case may be, that doesn’t mean that you will kill the man.

The police official can also be seen affirming and assuring the relative of the victim that everything will be okay. The video also shows that liquor bottles and plastic glasses were inside the vehicle when the accident happened.

After the video went viral, the Lucknow Police tweeted that a case has been registered at Banthara Police Station and further assured that necessary actions are being taken.

After the video went viral, various users came forward to remark on the incident as one user wrote and said that everyone has the right to drink, however, also highlighted that drinking and driving is a punishable offense.

Another user also added that if the police turns to doing such things, who will penalize the police for doing so.
