Unique initiative by Maharashtra Gram Panchayat, people paying taxes will get accident insurance upto Rs 10 lakh
A gram panchayat in Maharashtra has announced to provide accident insurance cover of Rs 10 lakh to the people. In fact, the Panchayat has taken this unique initiative to motivate people to pay tax and increase the revenue of the Gram Panchayat. The panchayat has said that the people of the village who pay the tax levied by the panchayat in full, will get an accident cover of up to Rs 10 lakh in case of an accident.
This announcement has been made by Panchincholi Gram Panchayat of Nilanga Tehsil, where the decision was taken in the Gram Panchayat meeting held on Friday. This Gram Panchayat meeting was held under the chairmanship of Sarpanch Gitanjali Hanumante of Panchincholi village, in which former Sarpanch Shrikant Salunkhe made this proposal. On which the panches of the village also agreed.
It was decided in the meeting of the Gram Panchayat that the villagers who pay the full tax of the Panchayat will get accident insurance up to 10 lakhs. There are about 930 taxpayers in this village with a population of 5947. Former sarpanch Salunkhe, who gave this idea, said that this decision has been taken with the aim of motivating people to pay the taxes.
