Mahindra to introduce Thar 5-door soon, check expected launch date and price
Indian car manufacturer who has been testing its 5-door Thar for a long period of time again spied during testing. The vehicle has been spotted in full camouflage, revealing some of its key design, features and specification ahead of the official launch. The report says the vehicle will hit the Indian market somewhere around the end of this year or the start of next year. However, the company has not revealed any official details about the same as of now.
According to the leaked photos, it seems like the firm has retained the signature styling in its upcoming Thar 5-door which is quite similar to its ongoing three doors variant. However, when it comes to the most significant change which might attract buyers this time to go for Thar without any second thoughts is 5-door panels.

As per the spy images, it can be seen that the upcoming SUV is likely to come in a bigger size as compared to its ongoing version. The photos also suggested Mahindra did not change anything when it comes to its wheel design. However, it looks a bit larger than 3-doors Thar and gives similar look to the Jeep Wrangler.
Reports suggested that the company might carry forward some other key features of ongoing vehicles to the upcoming 5-door Thar such as the infotainment system which will support wireless Android, Auto, and Apple car play.
The new images also indicate the rear overhang is not much larger than the three-door version. It also indicates that Mahindra might keep the wheelbase unchanged and increase the overhands to create extra room.

The camouflaged images also revealed that the upcoming Thar will feature the same wheelbase as its current version. Apart from this, customers can expect the same cladding on the side and unchanged front and rear tail lights.
Talking about the power and engine, the upcoming Thar will feature a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine, which will generate a power of 150 Bhp and a maximum torque of 320 Nm. A 2.2-liter diesel engine also will be offered that will churn out 130 PS and 320 Nm of peak torque. Both engine options will come with a choice of an automatic or manual transmission.
