The two women, who have been identified as Sippy Sharma and Veerpal Kaur, have come forward in the video and said that they were assured of their appointment in the previous Punjab government, but as the previous government failed to live up to their promises, the physical instructors entrusted the Aam Aadmi Party’s Government to carry out the task. However, even after 7 months, there has been no change in the situation.
According to reports, the instructors have also threatened to immolate themselves if their demands are not met and the supporters of their cause were also protesting along with them on the ground.
This Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann had previously Tweeted about the Punjab cabinet approval of 25,000 job vacancies notification within one month. The Tweet further proclaimed that this was delivered as the party had promised before the election. The Tweet further added that the AAP government will prioritize job opportunities for Punjab’s youth.
This is not the first time the teachers in Punjab resorted to drastic measures as similar incidents had taken place before as well. The actions by the teacher coordination committee disregarded the ban on climbing government buildings as the teachers threatened to take their lives if the administration failed to fulfill their demands.
