A video came to light from Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad district on Thursday in which a 15-year-old girl was seen walking naked on the streets. Initially, there were reports that the teen was allegedly gang-raped and stripped by five youths. However, now the Moradabad Police have shared a statement in which they deny any such incident.
The Senior Superintendent of Bhojour Police Station, Moradabad, uploaded a video in which he said that the victim’s uncle lodged a complaint on September 6 of sexual assault on her niece on September 1. However, the police then took the victim’s parents’ statement, in which they found that the girl had mental health problems since birth. They even denied any such incident.
Based on video evidence, the police have detained the youth in judicial custody, and the rest of the proceedings are underway, said SP. In response to her uncle’s complaint, the authorities even sent the victim teen for examination; however, the results were clear, and no evidence of sexual assault was found.
According to the reports, the teen had gone to a neighbouring village to attend a fair when five youths allegedly kidnapped her. A villager who had heard her screams ran to the scene, but by that time the five accused had fled, taking away her clothes and other items with them.
A video of the incident has surfaced on the internet which showed a teen walking home naked for about 2 hours.
Instead of lending a hand, several onlookers stayed by and watched while others recorded her and posted the disturbing footage online. The incident allegedly took place on September 1 on the Moradabad-Thakurwada road.
