Mulayam Singh Yadav's wife Sadhna Gupta passes away

Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav’s wife Sadhna Gupta passed away due to fever and lung infection on Friday.

Reports said Gupta was in a critical condition and was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Gurugram for the last four days.

Sadhna Gupta was the second wife of Mulayam Singh Yadav. She was the mother-in-law of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Aparna Yadav and the mother of Prateek Yadav. In 2003, Malti Devi, the first wife of Mulayam Singh and mother of Akhilesh Yadav passed away. Singh then got married to Sadhna Gupta who was 20 years younger than him.

Uttar Pradesh deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya condoled the demise of Sadhna Gupta on Twitter.
