Mumbai: Pregnant woman alleges policeman of molestation after road accident, reports confirm policeman was drunk
A harrowing story has come to light from Mumbai’s Kharghar where a policeman allegedly molested a woman after the policeman’s car brushed a woman-man-borne two wheeler. According to reports, the police officer was in an inebriated state while he was driving the vehicle.
The drunk policeman after grazing the vehicle of a pregnant woman and her husband, he went on to argue with the 26-year-old woman’s husband. The policeman has been identified as Dinesh Mahajan.
As per reports, the 26-year-old in her complaint said that after the policeman’s car close shaved their two wheeler, her husband lost the motorcycle’s balance, however, gained control of the vehicle subsequently after. The husband of the pregnant woman reportedly went on to argue with the policeman who introduced himself to be a crime branch officer.
However, the police officials have denied that the accused policeman claims of being a crime branch officer and told the media that the accused policeman was of constable rank.

The complaint by the pregnant woman also stated that when the argument between the policeman and the husband of the woman ensued, the policeman manhandled her and went on to shove her aside. The reports also suggest that the spat between them and the policeman resulted in a crowd gathering, subsequently after which the police themselves reached the place.
The police, after reaching the spot, took both the parties to the Kharghar Police station where they learnt more about the incident. According to reports, the medical test of the accused policeman confirmed that he was in a drunk state while he was driving.
The pregnant woman was also taken for the medical test after she accused the constable Dinesh Mahajan of assaulting her.
Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Patil told the media that the accused police constable, Dinesh Mahajan, has been suspended. However the reports of him being arrested has not yet been confirmed.
