NIA raids around 60 locations across north India
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today conducted raids at around 60 locations across north India to crack down on the gangsters. Reports said that the raids were being conducted with the help of local police in Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Punjab.
The NIA conducted raids at gangster Vinay Deora’s residence in Faridkot, In Punjab and gangster Kala Rana’s residence in Yamunanagar, Haryana.
An NIA official said that they had found some nexus between the gangsters and terrorists in these locations. He further said that the chief suspect in Punjab singer Sidhu Moose Wala’s murder case Lawrence Bishnoi was also on the agency’s radar.
The NIA had registered a case against 10 gangsters who were in contact with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and the Neeraj Bawana gang. Yesterday, Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said that there was a strong nexus between terror groups and the gagsters arrested in the Sidhu Moose Wala case.

The Punjab Police arrested Deepak Mundi, the sixth and last shooter in the case. The entire conspiracy and modus operandi as also the link-ups of these gangsters were revealed.
The Punjab police said that the gangsters Deepak Mundi, Kapil Pandit and Rajinder had plans to fee to Dubai using a fake passport and Kapil had confessed that he had conducted reconnaissance of Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s house and kept a watch on his movement.
The police said that Kapil’s involvement in the Salman Khan case was a major discovery of the 105-day-long Deepak Mundi catch operation.
According to the police, both Mundi and Kapil had been staying together and were constantly shifting their locations in the direction of Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar, the main conspirator.
