Om Shanti Om actor Nitesh Pandey dies of cardiac arrest
Bollywood and TV actor Nitesh Pandey, who worked with Shah Rukh Khan in Om Shanti Om, passed away on Tuesday. Pandey suffered a cardiac arrest at around 2 am at Lagatpuri near Nasik where he was shooting last night, reports said. He was 51.
Reports further said he breathed last at a hotel and a police team in investigating the matter. His autopsy reports are awaited.
Siddharth Nagar, the actor’s brother-in-law, confirmed the news and said his sister Arpita Pandey is shocked. He also said the actor was a lively person and did not have a history of heart ailments.
The film fraternity paid condolences to the actor. Filmmaker Hansal Mehta, on Twitter, called it an unkind time as three young actors passed away in a span of 3-4 days.
Nitesh Pandey was currently seen in Star Plus’ popular show Anupamaa starring Rupali Ganguly. He portrayed the role of Dheeraj in the show.
He started his acting career in 1990 with theatre and bagged his first role in a show, Tejas. He played titular roles in multiple daily soaps on TV including Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara, Kuch Toh Log Kahenge, Indiawaali Maa, Ek Rishta Saajhedari Ka, and Hero-Gayab Mode On.
Apart from his stint in Hindi serials, Pandey also worked in many big-budget films Om Shanti Om, Khosla Ka Ghosla, Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai, Mickey Virus, Dabangg 2, Shaadi Ke Side Effects, Madaari, Hunterrr, Rangoon, Badhaa Do, and Baazi.
Nitesh Pandey is not the only star who the entertainment industry lost today. Vaibhavi Upadhayaya, popular for working in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai as Jasmine, lost her life in a car accident.
Reports said the accident took place in Himachal Pradesh when the vehicle suddenly went out of control at a steep turn. She was travelling in a car with her fiance.
