Police personnel lathi charge woman in UP, video viral | Watch
A video has come to light from Uttar Pradesh’s Ambedkar Nagar where police personnel can be seen not holding back as they lathi charge a woman who allegedly was pelting stones. The incident took place in Ambedkar Nagar, which was already amidst a stir after reports came of some people vandalized Bhim Rao Ambedkar’s statue.
In the video, heavy police deployment can be seen brutally beating up the people in the area as one woman can be seen finding herself being subjected to Police brutality. Two police personnel can be seen not holding back and beating a woman as she tries to stop them. One police personnel can be seen charging her and beating her with a lathi after which another can also be seen joining in as he hit the Woman.

The video also shows the police personnel after beating one woman, charging toward another as they unleash their assault on her. The second woman, after being beaten can be seen collapsing on the ground as the police personnel can be seen retreating.

Police’s statement
After the video went viral, the police came forward and addressed the whole situation, and tried to reason the police’s action. The police in their statement wrote and said that after the police reported the case of vandalism of Bhim Rao Ambedkar’s statue, they had invited the owner of the park, as well as the neighboring people, to come to a consensus and build a boundary around the park to avoid such incidents
.
About the building of the boundary, the authorities reached the spot to build a boundary wall, however after which they were subjected to stone pelting by women at the spot. Following the commotion, the police force was deployed and was instructed to use minimal force to disburse and take control of the situation during which the whole incident happened, stated the police.
