Reports said GNDU Teacher Association sent multiple complaints to the state government and questioned the recruitment process in the college. The officials also claimed that government funds for projects were embezzled.

Last month a similar incident took place at an upper primary school at Ladiguda village in the Gajapati district wherein a teacher was suspended for allegedly beating up sixteen students in an inebriated condition.

Reports said the teacher reached the school drunk and started asking questions to the students following which he thrashed the students who failed to answer his questions. Enraged parents then filed a police complaint and the teacher was arrested.
