Ekta Kapoor calls Radhika Madan shameless for criticising TV industry, praises Sayantani Ghosh
After actor Sayantani Ghosh, television producer Ekta Kapoor has slammed Shiddat actor Radhika Madan for criticizing the small screen industry. Radhika Madan, who started her career with Ekta Kapoor’s daily soap, titled Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi, talked about the work culture in the Television industry.
Radhika Madan, who was last seen in the Arjun Kapoor starrer Kuttey, mocked the television industry, which, however, did not go well with the producer Ekta Kapoor. Radhika, in her latest interview, recalled working 48–50 hours a shift during her years as a TV actor and also claimed that scripts were given at the last moment.
She said whenever she asked for the script, she was told, Aap set pe chalo, script garma garam aa rahi hai (You just reach the sets, script will be freshly printed). She also said that the directors used to make changes at the last minute, and whichever director was free would come to shoot.
Pataakha actor also stated that whenever she had anything to say about her character, she was told by the director that they would think about it when they make a film and not a TV serial.
Soon after that, actor Sayantani Ghosh took to her Instagram story and slammed Madan for degrading the TV industry. She wrote So sad to see the world of TV put down like this! The actor here started a promising career on a TV show! Such a shame! Let’s not forget that TV reaches millions of homes and gives employment to many, she added.
Ekta Kapoor shared Sayantani Ghosh’s interview on her Instagram handle, praised the actor for speaking up for the TV industry, and slammed Radhika Madan for pulling TV industry down. She wrote, Sad!!! And Shameful actors have no respect for their roots. Kudos to Sayantani Ghosh.
Several TV actors also reacted to Sayantani’s comments on Radhika. Actor Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya said she completely agrees with Sayantani’s views and admires the way she has addressed the issue.
Actor Karanvir Bohra also praised Sayantani. He said what Radhika said wasn’t wrong, but the way she said was demeaning, adding that Radhika should have been a little more sensitive about this. Aapko kya lagta hai, filmo mein aise nahi hai (What do you think? Making films comes without all this), he questioned the actor.
